JS Mechanical is a small individually run Mechanics startup in Eastern Michigan. The owner came to me looking for a bright bold full new design for their brand that would set them apart from other local companies. This is a brand identity for a small-town heating and cooling company built on trust, reliability, and community. The design blends functional clarity with a friendly, approachable tone—balancing modern professionalism with hometown warmth. A crisp logo, bold color system, and no-nonsense typography keep the brand as dependable as the service it represents. The bold yellow mixed with repetitive pattern and clean lines is a back to the basics modern take with patterns reminiscent of those found in a Mechanics shed.
Color selection utilizes a deeper but bold attention-snaring yellow to reflect a sunny yet bold disposition. It is paired with darker and muted greys set to match the tools of the trade. That same clean modern treatment was considered when selecting the fonts for the brand.
The finished assets were used in the creation and printing of a set of business cards and a vehicle wrap for the client's work van. To keep the cost down, the latter was limited to a large scale vinyl printing of the logo and a simple pop of color for the hood of the van.
